Something is going to happen on the roofs of Kattenburg! The students of the building at Bijltjespad (2-82) & Kattenburgerstraat (10-28) will soon have a smart, blue-green roof. Blue-green?! Yes blue-green, which means a blue layer for the storage of water and a green layer consisting of vegetation. The water can be discharged through a ‘smart valve’. This smart valve responds to the weather forecast and opens and closes automatically at the right times. It will make the city more climate adaptive, it increases biodiversity and will lower the temperature in the rooms of the building (especially on the upper level).
On Tuesday, February 16th RESILIO organised an online meet-up where everything about blue-green roofs, climate adaptation and biodiversity was explained. If you have any questions regarding the Kattenburg project or about RESILIO please use the form below to contact us!
